Why Epiphany?

Epiphany comes from a Greek word that means to show forth, to appear, to become visible or to clearly show.

The grace of God has appeared to the world, bringing salvation to the darkness of all men (Titus 2:11).  We strongly believe that God has called us to be lowercase epiphanies of His grace to the world (Act 1:8).  God has commissioned us to make disciples who show forth His glory to the entire world (Matthew 28:18-20).

Darkness exists in many places in this world where violence, crime, poverty and debauchery appear to reign.  God in his infinite wisdom established a mysterious plan to make the light become visible to the world through his church (Ephesians 5:32).  Wilmington, DE is one of those places where darkness appears to reign.

However, we know that Christ reigns over all of the earth.  Therefore, we desire to be representatives, “little epiphanies”, of his ruling reign in the city of Wilmington for His glory.  Therefore, we have followed in the steps of men who have gone before us and take the name of Epiphany Fellowship Church.
