You Can’t Do it Alone

For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God’s gift— not from works, so that no one can boast. - Ephesians 2:8

Life is tough isn’t it? Well, it’s a lot easier with help. You weren’t designed to do life alone.

So why don’t you take the first step to see what He has in store for you? Don’t worry all you have to do is keep reading.

Meet the One who already loves you: Get to know Jesus

Jesus sees you, loves you and offers peace and comfort like no other. You need strength and healing in life that only He can provide. Let’s get to know him a little better.

Who is Jesus?

Jesus is the Son of God and the Savior of the world. God sent Him to earth to show us how deeply we are loved. John 3:16 “For God loved the world in this way: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.”

What did He do?

He lived a perfect life, taught us to love, forgive, and follow God. And, He sacrificed Himself by dying on the cross to stand in for punishment and erase  the wrongs we’ve done—to ourselves, to others, and to God. 1 Peter 2:24 "He himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by His wounds you have been healed."

Where is He now?

He rose from the dead three days later back to life proving His power over sin and death. Now, He is alive as our Savior and friend, offering us hope, forgiveness, and a fresh start. Romans 8:34 “Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us.”

When will I meet Him?

You can begin to know Jesus now by inviting Him into your heart and building a relationship with Him. Believers also have the hope of meeting Him face-to-face in heaven, where there will be no pain, sorrow, or death. In heaven, we will fully experience His glory and love forever. Revelation 21:3-4 "And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, ‘Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and He will dwell with them. They will be His people, and God Himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain.’"

Okay I’m listening

If you've read this far, you're clearly interested—and that's a great start. But maybe you still have questions about faith. That's completely normal. You’re human. Even those who have been walking with Jesus for years still have their "Wait, what?" moments. Following Jesus is a lifelong journey, and none of us have all the answers. But here’s the key: trust Jesus, and trust the process.

  • A relationship with Jesus is cultivated much like a relationship with anyone else – with time, vulnerability and mutual sharing. God speaks to us through the Bible and we speak back through prayer. Part of being in relationship with God also means relating to his people and participating in the community of Christ

  • You can start by simply talking to God. Be honest with Him about where you are in your belief—your doubts, fears, and hopes. Tell Him you want to know Him, and ask Him to save you. Starting this relationship is about being genuine with God, opening your heart to Him, and trusting Him to lead you.

  • Being saved is defined as confessing out loud that you believe Jesus died for you and accepting him as the God over your life. In essence, you are dedicating (or rededicating) your life to God. Jesus wants us to acknowledge him and accept him into our lives. He doesn’t force his way in. But all you have to do is say something.

  • SIN. It’s such a dirty word in our culture, but we all need to be saved from our sin. What is sin? Sin is anything we think, say, or do that goes against what God wants for us. It’s not just about breaking rules—it’s about breaking the connection between us and God. Sin is what separates us from Him because God is perfect, and sin creates a barrier. But here’s the good news: Jesus came to remove that barrier. He took the punishment for all our sins—past, present, and future—when He died on the cross. By accepting Him, we’re forgiven and can have a fresh start, free from the weight of sin. It’s not about being perfect; it’s about letting Jesus help us live a life that’s closer to what God designed for us. Romans 3:23-24 "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus."

  • Becoming saved starts with a heartfelt decision to turn to Jesus. Cry out to Him and confess with your mouth that He is Lord, trusting in your heart that He . Romans 10:9 “If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” This also means turning your back on sin—choosing to leave behind the things that separate you from God and committing to follow Him. It’s not about being perfect—yes we will all still mess up from time to time. But it’s about surrendering your life to Jesus and allowing Him to transform you from the inside out. Acts 3:19 “Now repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away.”

  • While it’s not required to be saved and begin your walk with Jesus, baptism is an important public acknowledgment that you have accepted the Lord our God as your savior. It’s just telling everyone that you’re starting fresh as a new creation in Jesus Christ. (scripture-Romans 6:4 (NIV)"We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life."
